Tighten up pull cable, wind blew barge out and cable smashed right middle finger. Took to emergency room, had 3 stitches put in and back to work.

Mostrando los 9They were picking up the spud on the dock barge. A coworker was operating the spud winch & he took the pressure off the pin that holds the spud. When the spud was lifted the EE grabbed the pin to pull it out, the spud suddenly dropped smashing two of his fingers. Per phone call one lacerated, one amputated to first knuckle.
Picked up a 4" discharge hose. He didn't feel any pain at the time, but as the day went on he had pain in his shoulder and kept getting worse.
Installing new conveyor belt on stacker cut left otter hand at third knuckle. Took to hospital to have looked at. He received six stitches and was released to go back to work on 6/29/13.
EE stepped off a conveyor walkway platform to the ground and rolled his right ankle. The step off the platform was about 1 foot off the ground. The damage was right lateral ankle sprain, moderate to severe.
Stuck water door on the barge
He was on the top deck of a trailer that he helped load an old junk earth scraper that was attached to semi tractor trailer that was being hauled off the premises. He stepped off the trailer and turned and rolled his right ankle.
Employee was using a snap on wrench to tighten a bolt. The wrench broke and hit him in the lip. Resulted in a split lip. Called MSHA Hotline Immediately and took him to the hospital where they cleaned the wound, applied sterile tape to the cut and then released him. No time was lost due to this accident.
EE removed the guard on the port anchor winch and put his right hand on the drive chain, when the winch suddenly moved and his right hand thumb went through the sprocket and chain. Punctured a hole in his right thumb nail and splitting the bone to the first knuckle.
