THE MOTOR SLIPPED OFF OF THE FRAME RAIL ON THE SCOOP AND FELL INTO THE CRADLE. THE EMPLOYEE'S WRIST WAS POSITIONED IN AN AREA WHERE THE MOTOR STRUCK IT CAUSING IT TO BE PINCHED BETWEEN THE FRAME AND MOTOR COUPLER. EMPLOYEE WAS TAKEN TO HOSPITAL AND RECIEVED 6 SUTURES .
Employee was using a razor Blade knife to cut a nylon rope. The blade cut though the nylon rope and contacted the employees left forearm causing a laceration.
A miner was injured while striking a chisel with a hammer. A piece of rust/metal went under the injured miners safety glasses frame and contacted the left eye. Employee was wearing prescription safety glasses when the incident occurred. Prescription eye drops were prescribed because of the scratch on the left eye.
A miner was injured while changing a scoop universal joint. EE struck the universal joint cap and a sliver of metal became dislodged and struck EE in the abdomen. EE was transported to Conemaugh Emergency room to be treated. The doctor lanced EE's abdomen to remove the metal sliver and because of the lace, EE received three sutures.
The man was swinging a hammer to install a bit insert on the continuous miner. While swinging the hammer, the handle broke and the man's hand struck a miner bit.

Injured person was prying a cat pad on cont miner with a rock bar when he strained his back. He has strained back muscles that require him to miss time from work.
Injured person was helping make a belt splice at #4 main tail. As he swung the hammer to strike a rivet he missed and struck his left hand with the hammer. He sustained a bruise of left hand requiring him to miss time.
INJURED PERSON WAS RELEASING A COME-A-LONG WHEN THE HANDLE ACCIDENTLY SNAPPED BENDING THUMB BACK ON RIGHT HAND. HE SUSTAINED A HYPER EXTENDED THUMB WHICH CAUSED HIM TO LOSE TWO DAYS FROM WORK.
INJURED PERSON WAS SHOVELING COAL CLEANING UP ALONG #3 MAIN BELT ENTRY. HE STARTED RAISING TO A HIGHER POSITION WHEN HE STRUCK HIS BACK ON A PIECE OF ROOF THAT WAS LOWER THAN ROOF IN SURROUNDI NG AREA. HE SUSTAINED AN IRRITATED SCIATIC NERVE.
EE WAS USING A PORTAPOWER ON CRIB BLOCKS TO INSTALL A SPRING BOARD ON THE TAIL OF A CONTINUOUS MINER. THE BLOCKS SLIPPED STRIKING EE ON LEFT HIP. THE EE FELL STRIKING HIS CHIN AGAINST A SHARP EDGE OF THE TAIL CUTTING HIS CHIN. THIS REQUIRED 5 STITCHES.
INJURED PERSON WAS CUTTING A BELT WITHA NIFE AND CUT HIS KNEE.
