not sure where or when injury occurred. There was a slight discomfort on and off throughout the day mostly on when the sun comes out. Wednesday same thing so I went to the eye doctor and he found small metallic pieces and removed them.
Lifting heavy Elec motor approx. 4 foot above ground onto conveyor belt. A crane or more people would prevent this from happening again.
Operator was climbing loader ladder to cab. Foot slipped grip broke fall BUT made him hit rib cage on ladder. Stayed at work. Went to Dr in evening for x-rays. Diagnosis, no bone damage just bruising. Returned to work next shift. Following day was scheduled vacation. During weekend, he sneezed causing severe pain to ribs. Went to Dr & was told not work 1-3 wks depending.
Changing screen, while lifting screen into place, it slipped out of EE's hand, tearing tissue on R. hand, 2nd finger. Required sutures (4).
EE was repairing conveyor belt using hammer to position clamp. missed clamp hit thumb. impact of hammer to thumb caused laceration that required stitches.
EMPLOYEE WOULD COMPLAIN ABOUT A BACK ACHE WITH INCREASING FREQUENCY. ON 12-11-97 HE WAS IN SUCH DISCOMFORT WE SENT HIM TO THE DOCTOR FOR A CHECK UP. DR. FELT THAT IT WAS A 50% CHANCE OR MORE T HAT IT WAS OPERATING AND BOUNCING IN THE LOADER THAT WAS THE CAUSE OF LOWER BACK TRAUMA.
SEPARATING ROCK BY HAND-ONE ROCK PUSHED AGAINST ANOTHER WITH HAND BETWEEN. CUT FINGER THRU GLOVE NEEDED STITCHES AND XRAY TO BE SURE NOT BROKE.
BONE IN LEFT WRIST WORN AND CREATED A CYST OVER PERIOD OF TIME CAUSING PAIN-CONDITIONS CAUSING PROBLEM WERE PROBABLY REPEATED ROUTINE MOVEMENT TURNING STEERING WHEEL OF LOADER.NOTE HAS NOT YET BEEN DETERMINED THAT IT WAS JOB RELATED
BOLT SLIPPED WHILE TIGHTENING DURING ROUTINE MAINTENANCE CUTTING MIDDLE FINGER LEFT HAND. REQUIRED 5 STITCHES TO CLOSE WOUND.
