An injury occurred when the employee was struck by material that fell from the face while tying in detonators to the E-cord. The employee was hit in the hardhat and right shoulder causing several minor lacerations and a shoulder sprain/strain.

Material fell from above the miner's location and struck the miner on the Hardhat causing a temporary loss of consciousness. This incident was immediately reported to the onsite MSHA inspector, and an investigation initiated.
The UG miner was hit on the head and shoulder by rock that fell from the face while performing scaling activities and working off of a scissor deck. The miner sustained abrasions to the head, and a shoulder laceration that required sutures to close.
The employee was walking to assist with a cable pull when a small rock fell through the wire and bounced off the Ventilation duct and struck the employee on the upper lip. The employee received a small laceration requiring sutures.
While completing a thorough inspection of the face (face prep) the miner was hit on the top of the hard hat by loose material. The material came off of the face above the location of the miner. The injured miner required staples to close a small laceration located on the top of EE's head. Post treatment, the injured received a full duty release.
