While cutting straps on bundle of timbers, the timbers started to roll over causing employee to reach out to block timbers from hitting his legs and feet while doing this he cut his Lt index finger with a razor knife he had in his Rt hand.

EE was using a utility knife to cut a rope hanger that was holding a cable up with pressure on it and when he cut the rope the cable shifted causing him to lose his balance and the utility knife blade cut his right leg causing a laceration which took 8 sutures to close.
Employee was using a utility knife to cut excess tape off of a dust hose when he slipped on rock he was standing on causing him to run blade across his left forearm causing a laceration which took 5 stitches to close. Treated at Montgomery Hospital and release he returned to work same day. No days lost, reportable due to stitches.
Employees were in the process of making a belt splice. EE was holding a knocker steady while another employee was using a Flexco hammer to drive it, when a piece of the knocker or hammer broke loose and struck employee in his right arm. EE later felt discomfort and was examined at Somerville Hospital where a piece of metal was removed & placed on restricted duty until 7/26/12.
EE was on his knees using a utility knife to cut belt rubber when he fell forward and the knife blade cut through his left glove into his hand causing a laceration which required 4 stitches. EE did not miss any work due to injury.
EE alleges that his lower back was injured while prying upwards with a slate bar while performing maintenance repairs on a cont. miner. Two EE's working with him stated this never took place and that the IEE never informed either of them that he was injured. EE rec. treatment the next day at St. Francis and was taken off work by Dr.
Employee was using a utility knife to cut line curtain when the knife slipped and cut the inside of his left hand across the palm severing two ligaments and twenty some sutures were required to close. Surgery to repair ligaments was performed on 10/5/11 and he returned to restricted duty on 10/6/11
Employee was in the process of making a cable repair to the left roof bolting machine on the 002 section. While holding the cable with his left hand and cutting the outer insulation off the cable with his right hand using a utility knife, the knife slipped and caused a laceration to the fat portion of his left thumb, which required 7 stitches to close.
While removing insulation from a cable, EE was using improper cutting procedures. The knife he was using slipped from the insulation and struck him on the left palm causing a laceration.
While cutting plastic shrink wrap from a pallet of rock dust. Injury was holding the plastic wrap with his left hand and cutting with his right hand. In doing so he cut his left hand.
Employee was cutting plastic wrap from around a new bolt starter box and he struck his right leg with the knife.

Raw Coal Area Plant - Outside upper part of yard. Employee was working on a dozer transmission when he placed a wrench on a slate bar to line the wrench up on the transmission. When he grabbed the slate bar pieces of metal were on the bar. The metal pieces went into his left hand middle finger.
Employee was making a cable splice using a cable anvil and a piece of the anvil chipped off cutting his right hand.
While putting a new sprocket on feeder the sprocket was being hit with a hammer. A piece of metal broke off (chip) and hit employee in the left cheek.
