Employee was injured while working on a header. EE was using a pipe wrench on a steamboat jack, when the force made the pipe wrench break loose from the jack and caused EE's arms to extend abruptly and hit EE's left arm and left shoulder on the header framing. Started missing work on 04/14/2026.

Employee was prying on a dust hose with a pinner steel. The steel became lodged, and as EE jerked it free, EE's right pinky finger was smashed between the steel and the coal rib. EE received three sutures and returned to work EE's next scheduled shift.
Employee was scattering rock dust out of a scoop bucket with a shovel. As EE went to sling the shovel of dust, EE hit the scoop bucket with the shovel causing the shovel to abruptly stop causing a torn bicep on the left arm. Started missing work on 4/3/2025
The roof bolter was attempting to cut a suction hose with a belt knife. Holding the hose in EE's left hand and cutting with the right, the knife came out of the hose and cut the left hand. Received 6 sutures, no work was missed.
While preparing the belt for a belt lay the belt mechanic was cutting the belt, when the knife slipped out of the belt and cut right leg just below the knee. Causing the belt mechanic to receive 10 staples, no work was missed.
Mechanic was cutting the outer jacket on the miner cable to make a splice, slipped and cut the index finger on EE's left hand. The cut required 6 stitches. No work was missed.

They returned to the mines afterward and completed the shift.
Miner was strapping supplies onto a trailer, using a small pry bar to tighten straps. The pry bar came loose and hit miner in a tooth, causing it to chip.
Miner lifted the back of the mantrip off the ground with a jack, stepped between the ride and the rib to place boards under the rear tire. The jack fell over catching the miner's leg between ride and the rib, resulting a fracture to the right leg near the ankle. The Miner was taken off work starting 2/16/24.

EE continued to work without restrictions until the follow up appointment on 12-27-23, EE was placed off work on 12-27-23.

Citation No. 9534971 was issued during a Part 50 Audit regarding this injury. The employee was on their knees making a belt splice. A piece of the hammer they were using flew off striking them on the right inner thigh.

At that time they elected to self exclude themselves from work going on furlough due to the Covid 19 Pandemic . Employee was striking a roll pin with a hammer as they were attempting to align belt framing. A piece of metal from the pin flew off and struck ee in the left forearm. Minor surgery (2 stitches) was attempted to remove the metal.
