Employee was cutting rubber belting material with a razor blade knife. Employee was pulling knife towards self when it slipped out of the rubber material and EE hit EE's upper left leg with the blade. Employee received a laceration approximately 1 inch deep and 1 1/2 inches long. Employee received sutures to close the wound. Minimal impairment.

Mostrando los 5Miner was cutting rubber belting material with a razor blade knife. The knife slipped and the miner lacerated left forearm with the blade of the knife. The laceration required sutures and the miner returned to work.
Miner was using a sledgehammer and a punch to drift a pin out so that the tooth on an excavator bucket could be replaced. The miner hit their thumb with the sledge hammer when it glanced off of the top of the punch. The miner's right thumb suffered a fracture on the tip of it.
Employee was chipping hardened soil from the flange of a stacker inlet so that the flange could be changed. Employee was using a spud bar in a standing position above the inlet. On downward stroke spud bar hit rubber belting and bounced back up causing a small laceration above employees right eye. Employee was taken to medical clinic and received 7 sutures to close the laceration.
A miner, engaged in crusher maintenance, was cutting a rubber conveyor belt with a razor knife in order to patch it. He was holding the knife in his right hand when the knife slipped out of the rubber material and back at him. The miner stabbed the palm of his left hand with the knife. Damage was limited to a small laceration.
