Employee was replacing tail pulley bearing on conveyor. Bearing housing shattered when pried on resulting in a piece of metal flying into employees eye under safety glasses. Employee received minor scratch to left eye.

Mostrando los 4Employee struck right index finger with a hammer while repairing a return roller in the maintenance shop. The injury resulted in 2 stitches and 10 days light duty.
Miner was installing a metal ring on a water pump. He was using a 5 lb sledge hammer to drive the ring in. When he swung, the hammer missed the ring and smashed his R index finger between the ring and the hammer handle. He was wearing gloves. He cut his finger and cracked the bone on the end. Three stitches were required and a finger guard was placed on the finger.
Miner was releasing a 1 1/2 ton cable come-a-long to lower a take-up bearing on #201 conveyor belt, when the rubber grip slipped off of the handle. The handle struck the miner on the right forearm causing a 1" cut. It took 5 stitches to close the wound. The miner returned to full duty with no restrictions on the same day.
