Mostrando los 29Employee changing out link on conveyor chain in Unit 4, Entry 10. While driving link back together a small piece of metal chipped off and imbedded in upper thigh. It was removed and stitched closed.
Employee was in the surface shop working on a piece of equipment. EE was on EE's knees driving a pin out with a sledge hammer. EE was swinging to hit the pin and missed the pin becoming off balanced falling on EE's right shoulder and arm. Incident occurred on 08/29/22 EE worked until 09/27/22 when EE was taken off work for medical treatment.
Employee was involved with the removal of an articulation jack on a machine. Employee was holding the the pin removal hammer while another employee was hitting it with a sledge hammer. The sledge hammer glanced off the pin hammer striking employee's finger, resulting in a fracture to that finger.
Employee was using a pry bar to remove a rock off the continuous miner when employee felt pain in right elbow. Employee continued to work until 04/05/2022 when employee's doctor took employee off work for surgical treatment of the elbow.
Employee was replacing cutting bits on the head of the continuous miner. EE went to hit on the bit removal tool with a hammer and missed hitting EE's right pinky finger. This resulted in a crushing injury to that finger requiring a surgical procedure.
Employee was changing out worn miner bits and was using a hammer and a chisel in this process. When hitting the chisel a sliver of metal came off and imbedded in EE's left forearm. EE continued to work until 10/06/2021 when EE had it removed and received 3 stitches.
