Employee was splicing conveyor belt with proper splicing equipment. As the belt was being tightened with comealongs the clamp became wedged against a trough roll. It was not noticed that it was stuck. As the belt was pulled tighter it finally let loose and slid off the end of the clamping bar struck him in the right shin.

Employee was using a 1/2" drive ratchet with a 5/8" socket to loosen bolt, bolt released unexpectedly causing employee to come in contact with a sharp corner edge of screen counter weight, thus cutting backside of right hand.

WORKER ALLEGES HE WAS TRYING TO LIFT A STONE FROM THE CRUSHER WITH A HOOK, WHEN HE FELT A STRAININ HIS GROIN. INJURY WAS DIAGNOSED AS A HERNIA ON THE RIGHTSIDE INJURY REPORTED 11-14-97.
