EE and cohorts had lowered the counterweight following a repair from the previous day. EE went up in a manlift to observe operation when they became entangled in moving machine parts of the 48-inch conveyor. EE was degloved from the shoulder to the forearm, has multiple fractures including wrist, thumb, scapula and shoulder. This injury will require skin graphing as well.

The employee received a work restriction due to a muscle strain to EE's neck and right shoulder from the impact. Employee is due back at the doctor on 1/17/2025.
While operating a Kubota RTV, the vehicle hit a pot hole and jolted the miner who sustained a back sprain.

Diagnosis Compression fracture to a lower vertebrae.

Employee lost control of haulage unit, ran onto berm overturning unit. No significant damage to haulage unit, however employee sustained a contusion to the left shoulder region.
Working on the drive of a screw conveyor. One employee was jogging, when another grabbed the belt and tried to manually jog. His thumb was caught by the belt and his right thumb was amputated.
Miner was operating hi-vac truck. Miner opened sight port without turning off engine, system pulsed and caused dust to go into the face of the miner. The miner was wearing safety glasses only, and dust entered his eye.
