Contributing conditions noted; miner's boots were caked with fresh mud, boot soles were worn smooth, the lower two rungs were packed full of mud and the truck was missing the mud flap that prevented mud being thrown onto the ladder.
Miner was assisting with the movement of a trailer mounted, diesel-powered water pump, which was tail-heavy. The miner placed his bodyweight on the trailer tongue to lower the hitch to the pickup. The trailer shifted, causing the miner to be tossed from the trailer tongue. The miner fell to the ground, resulting in a strained right shoulder.
