Struck by... (Not Elsewhere Classified)

Before attempting to start the pit pump, there was a piece of expanded metal laying on top pump that was picked up by employee and tossed to the side. When he tossed & let go of it, a sharp edge cut his finger.

Over-exertion (Not Elsewhere Classified)

EE using a sledge hammer to remove pins from a cone crusher when he exper. pain in his shoulder. Injury not reported until late June. Investigation was made to determine if the claim was work related. The decision was made to honor the claim as work related. All restricted days from treatment will be included on RTW filing.

Caught in, under or between a moving and a stationary object

EE was prying loose a single rock that was wedged in the #3 feeder, the rock dislodged, struck the track bar that was being used, causing the bar to pinch EE thumb between the bar and feeder chute work.

At approximately 2:00 pm a group of teenagers trespassing on the property discovered and reported a deceased person on the mine property. This was called in to MSHA under the guidelines of ""Immediately Reportable"" incident. Investigations by local authorities identified the victim's residence and notified family. Medical examiners report identified cause of death as a stroke.
