An accident occurred during routine maintenance on C10X10-30 Dredge. The pump shaft assembly was not properly rigged to prevent hazardous motion. The assembly slipped when lifted, striking and knocking the employee to the deck. The assembly landed on the employees leg resulting in two broken bones.

Employee was instructed to perform housekeeping task at the east plant. While picking up pieces of expanded metal, caught the end of his middle finger of his left hand on a sharp edge of the metal, resulting in a laceration. The employee was not wearing his gloves at the time of the injury. The leather gloves were in his back pocket.

Employee went into switchhouse by washing plant and was stung on the left by wasp. He went to the hospital to get a shot of Benadryl.
EE was climbing up on a sand classifier to check a stopped chute, when he was attacked by a wasp and stung 4 times. Stung on right eye, right side of neck, right shoulder, and middle back. EE went to hospital to get shot of benadryl because he is allergic to stings of any kind, but ret'd to work after shot.
Ee was unhooking a chain on two pieces of equipment, being taken down from another plant. As he bent down to unhook chain he lost his balance and fell on another piece of troughing that had a sharp edge to it. He cut his left lower arm on metal, which left a cut to arm that required stitches.

Employee was climbing down off of catwalk on radial stacker. He had mud on his boots and was not wearing his work gloves. As he climbed down his foot slipped and his little finger on right hand snagged on cover for tail pulley of stacker. His little finger on right hand was cut.

EE WAS HELPING TAKE A TRACK APART USING A SLEDGEHAMMER AND DRIVING PIN. A PART OF THE PIN SHEERED AND HIT EE ON SHIN
EE HAD REMOVED CHUNK FROM DREDGE PUMP & REPLACED THE LID. HE TURNED TO STEP OFF THE PUMP STAND. THE DREDGE DECK WAS WET & THE EE SLIPPED FALLING INTO THE SIDE WINDOW OF DREDGE.

WHILE EE WAS HELPING TO ADJUST THE IMPELLER ON A GRAVEL DREDGE, HE HIT THE TABLE OF THE PUMP STAND WITH A MAUL TO HELP MOVE THE IMPELLER INTO PLACE. THERE WAS SOME SAND ON THE TABLE & THIS FLE W UP HITTING HIM IN THE EYE. EE THROUGH HE GOT THE SAND OUT OF HIS EYE THAT DAY BUT IT BEGAN HURTING WORSE 1-18-97. HE WAS UNABLE TO GET A DR.'S APPT. UNTIL 1-20-97.
