Co-worker was using a punch to drive a bearing off of a shaft; injured was standing near him when he hit the punch with the hammer. A small piece of metal (about the size of a BB0) broke off the punch and hit injured in the neck. This piece of metal stuck in his neck.

THE INJURED PARTY WAS UNDER A MOTOR GRADER ATTEMPTING TO FREE A UNIVERSAL JOINT W/ AN IMPACT WRENCH & SLEDGE HAMMER. A FOREIGN MATERIAL, (BELIEVED TO BE METAL) SHEERED FROM THE HAMMER ENTERING THE LEFT EYE.
