Over-exertion (Not Elsewhere Classified)

Employee was walking on level ground carrying tools back to the maintenance shop when he felt a pop in his right knee and it became painful to bend the knee. Employee was diagnosed with sprain of medial meniscus.

Over-exertion in wielding or throwing objects

Employee was using a 10 lb. hammer to help product flow on a bin when he felt pain in his right arm. Employee was diagnosed with a right bicep tendon strain/tear and placed on restricted duty.

Caught in, under or between a moving and a stationary object

The employee was inside a retractable cage on top of a bulk truck loading the truck. The truck moved forward without warning and pinned the employee's leg between the truck hatch and the retractable cage ladder.

Struck against stationary object

Dry, well lighted; Miner was opening bulk truck hatch when one of the spring loaded hatch locks sprang back to the closed position resulting in the Miner jamming his little finger (right hand) back into the hatch cover which resulted in a dislocated joint on impacted finger. Confirmed via x-ray. ER Doc realigned joint, splinted and prescribed meds for pain.

Over-exertion (Not Elsewhere Classified)

Miner was walking across an area of snow covered natural earth when he states he slipped and twisted his right knee. Miner was taken to County ER where a licensed physician performed physical assessment. No x-rays taken, diagnosis was knee sprain. Leg Splint to immobilize was applied, 800 mg of ibuprofen prescribed, Miner returned to work with restrictions.
