PRIMING THE WATER PUMP FOR THE CRUSHER DUST ABATEMENT APPRATUS. EMPLOYEE LIFTED A FIVE GALLON BUCKE TOF WATER AND POURED IT INTO THE PUMP. HE BENT OVER AND REPLACED THE PLUG AND WHEN HE STOO D UP HE FELT A SHARP PAIN IN HIS LOWER BACK. HE KEPT WORKING, RUNNING LOADER, FOR FOUR HOURS AND THEN SAID HE WANTED TO SEE A DR.

THE CRUSHER SHUT DOWN AND HE TURNED OFF THE MAIN SWITCH AND LOCKED OUT THE MAIN POWER. WHILE PERFORMING MAINTENANCE ON THE CONVEYOR PULLEYS, AN ELECTRICAL STORM PASSED THROUGH THE AREA. HE WAS HOLDING UP A GUARD PLATE, READY TO GREASE THE TAIL PULLEY, WHEN LIGHTENING HIT THE UNIT HE WAS WORKING ON. A BOLT OF POWER ARCHED FROM THE PLATE TO THE GROUND, CAUSING HIS MUSCLES TO CONSTRIC

EE WAS INSPECTING THE BLOW BARS FOR WEAR ON THE HSI CRUSHER THAT MORNING. HE WAS REACHING THROUGH THE INSPECTION PLATE HOLE ACCESS AND ROTATING THE ROLLER. WITH HIS RIGHT ARM FULLY EXTENDED AN D PULLING THE ROLLER FROM RIGHT TO LEFT, HE FELTADN HEARD A POPPING NOISE IN HIS RIGHT SHOULDER. THE PAIN WOULD NOT GO AWAY AND DECIDED TO SEE A DR. BY THAT AFTERNOON.
