A fire was reported in Section 23. It was determined that the fire was started by lightening and was contained by pushing a dozer line around the fire. Company security was notified in order to monitor the area to prevent further spread of fire.

Today at 12:55 PM a fire was reported in the old #3 mining area near the eagle's nest in section 22. This is a re-combustion of the muck fire that was first reported on 5-16-07.
Around 12:00PM, PCS emp. was driving in mine area and spotted smoke in a muck pile. He notified supv. & dozer oper. who responded. Fire was possibly started by hot ash from nearby wildfire or recent lightning strike. No personnel or equipment were endangered. Fire was isolated & extinguished at time. No smoke was noted the morning of 5/18/07.
Employee, Mechanic with 31 years experience, was fabing 'A' frame for de-watering barge. While using overhead shop hoist to move frame out of shop, chain on hoist slipped causing frame to move. Employee lost his balance causing him to fall to shop floor. Employee landed on right elbow which caused a fracture of the right humerus.
Employee was lifting buckets of bolts from the back of a truck. The employee did not notice any discomfort that day, but during the night she began to experience pain in her left shoulder. The next day she told her supervisor of the pain in her shoulder. On 2/8/07 she was evaluated by the company physician and was ordered restricted duty.
Employee, Heavy Equipment Trainee with 7 months experience, stepped over a piece of 20"" matrix pipe and the ground gave way twisting his right leg. He reported discomfort in his right knee to his supervisor and saw the company doctor on 1/25/07. He worked without restriction until he was placed on restricted duty by the company doctor on 3/21/07 for subjective pain.
Employee experienced hearing loss above 25dB in the left ear. The hearing loss was detected during the annual audiometric testing and confirmed by a second audiometric test.
