Over-exertion in lifting objects

Employee complained of pain in right hand/wrist/arm rendering ee unable to perform duties. Employee attributed cause of pain to filling, lifting and handling 50lb bags of processed shell product.

Employee resigned on 07/14/2017. Company received mailed notice on 9/13/2017 that employee is claiming cumulative injury to both shoulders and upper extremities. The exact nature and cause of alleged injury is unknown. No report of injury was made prior to resignation.

Employee was shrink-wrapping a pallet of bags by pulling a shrink-wrap roll around the pallet. As employee bent down to wrap the bottom part of the pallet, he felt a pain in his lower back. No excessive pushing or pulling occurred, injury occurred while bending over. Employee was diagnosed with a lumbosacral back strain.

While repairing dredge pump drive unit, EE's hand became pinched in the drive belt. The unit was not operating, but tension of belt broke his little (pinky) finger on his left hand.
