Miner was drilling a hole through some rubber flashing. Miner was operating the hand drill with left hand while supporting the section of flashing material from the back side with right hand. When the drill bit cut through it contacted the palm of the miner's right hand causing a laceration resulting in 6 stitches, antibiotics, and Tetanus shot. Restricted duty for 7-14 days.

EE WAS TRYING TO DISLODGE ROCKS AT TUNNEL FEED WITH PRY BAR. WHILE USING FORCE ON BAR, HIS FINGER SLIPPED AND BECAME CAUGHT BETWEEN BAR AND METAL RAIL.
EMPLOYEE CLAIMED HE HURT HIS BACK SEVERAL DAYS PRIOR TO REPORT DATE (5/26/06) AND ASSUMED IT WAS FROM BOUNCING IN THE LOADER. WORK RELATED INJURY IS UNCERTAIN. INJURY RESULTED IN MODIFIED DUTY FOR 2 WEEKS, NO LOST TIME
Soreness in neck & right arm -accumulation over several months. Per miner - not sure how it happened or if job related.
EE WAS CHECKING FLASHING AT LIME PLANT AND DISTURBED SETTLED DUST. DUST IN EYE CAUSED INFECTION - DIAGNOSIS: LEFT EYE CONJUNCTIVITIS. DELAY IN REPORTING DUE TO DOCTOR'S INVESTIGATION WHETHER INDUSTRIAL.
Using impact wrench attached to air hose, removing nuts to repair crusher. Nozzle came loose from hose, miner raised arm in defensive move. Pressurized air lacerated arm. 4 stitches required. No lost time. restrictions include keeping wound clean and dry.
