Indian Creek Materials LLC · Struck by flying object

Tech was replacing a bearing race on conveyor tail shaft. Tech used a die grinder to cut the race and then used a hammer and chisel to wedge apart the race to drive off shaft. A metal piece of the bearing race or chisel chipped off and embedded in the side of the hand. The small (approx. 3cm) metal piece had to be surgically removed at the doctor.

Employee was pulling v-belt that had stopped due to a rock lodged in tail pulley. When belt freed, v-belt turned and pulled 5th digit on his (gloved) right hand into belt.
