Tighten up pull cable, wind blew barge out and cable smashed right middle finger. Took to emergency room, had 3 stitches put in and back to work.

They were picking up the spud on the dock barge. A coworker was operating the spud winch & he took the pressure off the pin that holds the spud. When the spud was lifted the EE grabbed the pin to pull it out, the spud suddenly dropped smashing two of his fingers. Per phone call one lacerated, one amputated to first knuckle.

EE removed the guard on the port anchor winch and put his right hand on the drive chain, when the winch suddenly moved and his right hand thumb went through the sprocket and chain. Punctured a hole in his right thumb nail and splitting the bone to the first knuckle.
