Mt Moriah Stone · Over-exertion in lifting objects

When employee went back to work after lunch on 05/18/07, he was lifting a heavy stone and felt a sudden pain in his lower abdomen. He felt some pain the rest of the day, but thought it was just a sprain. By 05/18/07, the pain had increased, so he notified his supervisor, and was brought down from the quarry at 4:00 pm.

Employee began work at 8:30, at approx 11:00 am, as he was splitting a building stone with a hammer & chisel, a piece broke off & hit him in the left eye area (just below the eye). Employee was wearing safety glasses.
