Nielson Construction Corp · Contact with hot objects or substances

Operating a Cat D8L bulldozer, pushing earthen material, a hydraulic hose burst under the engine compartment. Oil sprayed on engine block and ignited, shooting flames toward cab. Operator shut down equipment and exited. His right hand and forearm was burned (hand more extensively). Upon investigation, operator may have gripped handrail upon exiting. He cannot remember.

EE HAD BEEN RUNNING LOADER, MOVING MATERIAL TO THE CRUSHER FEEDER. HE WAS FINISHED AND WAS CLIMBING OUT OF THE LOADER, SLIPPED AND FELL DOWN LANDING ON BACK.
