Struck against a moving object

A driver from the trucking Div. of Branscome Inc. was coming into the mine site on the main haul road to dump off millings. Driver was reaching for a bottle of water, they failed to maintain control of the truck and drove off into the ditch on the right side, causing the truck to lay over on its side. The weather was sunny and dry .

Over-exertion in pulling or pushing objects

Employee was performing clean up duty at 18 plant using a shovel. It was sand, rock, clay material it was wet. EE put the shovel in the ground and prying back on it to loosen it was when EE felt the pain in EE's left shoulder.

Fall to the walkway or working surface

The off road truck driver was exiting the truck. When he stepped down on the ground he put his foot down on the wheel chock. This caused him to lose his balance and go down on his right knee. This resulted in a sprained right knee.

The employee was helping R&I screens in the sand shaker. It was then that the sand debris was dislodged and became airborne. The sand debris got lodged in the left eye. The employee then rubbed the left which caused a corneal abrasion. He was wearing eye protection.

Fall to the walkway or working surface

There was two haul trucks parked @ the wash rack. The employee then proceeded to wash the bed of his haul truck out. That is when the dirt from the other truck come loose slide down and struck him in the back of his legs ,half way to his calfs. This put him on his knees. Resulting in a left lower back sprain, right ankle pain.

Struck by flying object

At the time of the injury he was operating the excavator. He did have one window open at the time of injury. At that time he had trouble seeing from the right eye. It was hard for him to see from his right eye that afternoon but as the the day went on it got better. They did not bandage the eye.

Struck by falling object

The worker was reinstalling a guard on the rock screw. As the loader let the guard down. The guard came in contact with the frame of the rock screw. Causing the chain to release resulting with the guard coming down on the right foot just above the steel toe of the boot. The resulting injury is a broken little toe on the right foot.

Employee was connecting a chain from the stacking conveyor to the front end loader to reposition stacking conveyor. Loader began backing, chain tightened, and employee did not release chain. Employee strained right shoulder.

Standing on low wall turned and foot slipped causing him to fall, scrapping calf on edge of wall. Employee was fine but then decided to see M.D. on Feb. 11, 2010. M.D. returned him to modified work on same day.
