Over-exertion in pulling or pushing objects

Employee was attempting to pull a hydraulic splitter up from a block. It was stuck in the drill hole; they pulled with more force to free it and felt a pulling sensation in their abdominal area.

Fall to lower level, (Not Elsewhere Classified)

Dimensional stone extraction crew miner needed a tool from another area of the ledge. Instead of using provided access to that area, miner tried to walk across a small (approx 10"" wide) ledge of a column to get there that was roped off. Miner slipped on rocks/mud and fell down approx. 7 feet and landed on shoulder causing pain.

Three miners where blocking track when one of the miners' thumb was pinched while hand was underneath the track.

IE (sawyer) was moving a Surface saw with two other Miners using Volvo 120 loaders. There was some miscommunication between IE and an operator causing IE's thumb to get pinched between the track and wood blocking.

The Miner lost footing and slipped falling awkwardly on their knee. The area was surveyed for tripping hazards and none were present.

The Miner was walking towards the ramp to the entrance of the mine when they slipped on some rubber lay flat and fell after tagging in.

While tightening a bolt using a ratchet, hand came back into a shim cutting the top of left hand.

Removal of rim part from tire. Bead seat was dropped and hit him on top of his foot at start of toe behind steel toe in boot.

Caught in, under or between a moving and a stationary object

Miner was separating track for the surface saw using a 2 inch open end wrench. He was pushing on the top of the wrench, closed end. When the nut broke free he pinched his left little finger against the side of the saw blade and the wrench. Taken for medical treatment and received 6 stitches to close the wound.

Miner was lifting a 5 gallon bucket half full of slips and wedges (about 40 lbs.) onto a 4 foot block of stone. He placed his left hand on the stone block and swung the bucket with his right hand. The bottom bucket edge rolled over his left ring finger taking out the fingernail. He received on suture to his left ring finger.

Miner was using an air drill, drilling a vertical hole an inch and three quarters into the limestone face. The drill was positioned above his shoulders and as he was pushing the drill into the face he strained his lower back.

The employee was moving track for the underground saw in the 2 room. The pin that holds the track in place was being pulled out with the fork of a Volvo L120C. When the track pin broke free the injured reacted and stuck his hand out. The track pin struck injured in the palm of his left hand. He was sent for medical treatment and received 3 sutures.
