Laborer was directing Machine operator. While using the excavator, the operator scooped up a hidden root from a small tree, causing the tree to uproot and fall in the path of the Laborer. The laborer fell to the ground. The machine operator went to Laborer's aid. Operator dispatched 911. Laborer was transported to the hospital. Discharged from hospital a few hours later.
