Contact with cold

Employee was working on an ore truck at laydown yd, unable to hold a wrench, they briefly removed their gloves, touching the wrench with their hands, felt a short sting but wasn't worried about it. When they came back on for the next shift, they complained their fingers hurt, 3 had blisters. Under investigation, due to personal health diagnosis; did not report this upon occurrence.

Over-exertion in pulling or pushing objects

Driver pulled a tarp that wasn't unrolling, felt a pull in EE's left arm. Self-treated injury. On 1/26/26, seen by PA-C, neg x-ray. Referred to ortho in Fbks., AK, MRI 1/29/26, revealed 2 minor muscle tears, placed on Lt-arm restrictions; left for 2-wk vacation. Upon return, EE will follow up with the ortho and may need PT if the injury has not healed.

Caught in, under or between a moving and a stationary object

Mechanic's hand was pinched between the rod handler and dill steel causing a displaced fractured index metacarpal.

One of the linehaul drivers was conducting EE's pre-operational check at the Manh Choh Laydown Yard, while attempting to adjust a tarp over one of the SiDump'r tubs with a wooden pole, EE felt a ""pop"" in EE's left shoulder.

Employee was preparing ore samples in the ore prep lab. While using the ""Mill Mate"" to assist in carrying the sample the employee's left foot slipped which caused the employee's left knee to ""twist"". The employee reported the injury and was taken to Medic for evaluation.

Accident type, without injuries

While Kinross employees were traveling from Tok to the Manh Choh mine site, the crew van in use lost oil pressure and was turned off. A fire was identified in the engine compartment. All employees exited the vehicle without injury and tried to extinguish the fire with two handheld 5# fire extinguishers but were not successful.

Struck by falling object

Employee was changing grader bits. A bit was being installed on the moldboard it slipped and fell to the ground on one end, the other end rebounded back and caught the Employee's right hand between the bit and moldboard. This caused a fracture in the middle flinger of the right hand.

Struck against stationary object

While exiting a CAT D8T bulldozer, the operator was utilizing 3 point(s) of contact. When the employee stepped off of the dozer EE's right foot was on a loose rock which resulted in the worker rolling their ankle when shifting weight to the right foot. The worker sustained a fracture to the right ankle as a result of improper footing when transitioning from equipment to the ground.
