EMP WAS USING A KNIFE TO TRY AND CUT SOME PLASTIC HOSE. WHILE DOING SO, KNIFE SLIPPED AND STABBED INTO HIS LEFT HAND, CAUSING A CUT BETWEEN THE THUMB AND FORE FINGER. EMP CONTINUED WORKING UNT IL APPROX 1:00PM AND THEN WENT TO HOSPITAL WHERETHEY PUT 4-5 STITCHES IN HAND. EMP THEN RETURNEDBACK TO WORK.

EMPLOYEE WAS DOING MAINTENCE ON CRUSHER (NOT IN OPERATION - LOCKED OUT). HE WAS ROTATING A HAMMER IN ORDER TO REPAIR SHOES. HAND BETWEEN HAMMER AND CASE OF IMPACTOR - SQUEEZING TYPE OF INJURY FRACTURED 3RD METACARPOL BONE OF RIGHT HAND.
