Miner was repairing a torn belt using a utility knife. The knife slipped and punctured the top of miners right hand. No other conditions such as weather were a factor. Miner received three stitches, reported back to work the next workday.

ONE MAN WAS IN THE OPEN CHUTE, THE INJURED MAN WAS ON THE TWO PLANKS. HE SAID HE LAID HIS TOOLS ON ONE PLANK AND STOOD ON THE OTHER. THE ONE HE CHOSE TO STAND ON HAD A LARGE KNOT IN THE AREA WHERE IT BROKE.
