Employee was observing other employee check grinder from about 8 feet away. When grinder powered up, wheel came apart. Fragment from wheel hit employee in left ear.

EE WAS DISMOUNTING THE WHEEL LOADER AFTER PARKING IT. HE STEPPED AWKWARDLY ON THE GROUND, STRAINING KNEE & CAUSING A FRACTURE. THIS WAS NOT DURING MINING OPERATION - EE WAS USING LOADER TO RET RIEVE STRANDED COW IN POND.
