EE was cutting off 993K bucket adapters with air arc. Hit adapter with 2 lb. hammer to ensure metal was cut loose. Metal fragment flew off and struck ee in left leg. Needed 1 suture to close wound

Contura Energy Services employee was walking on top of a roadway berm installing gas line markers when employee experienced a sudden pain to right leg calf muscle. The event caused employee to go to the ground. Employee stated it felt like the muscle popped.
