WHILE WORKING AT THE MINE SITE, HE STOOPED OVER TO PICK UP A LARGE ROCK AND DEVELOPED SEVERE PAIN IN THE UPPER PORTION OF THE LUMBAR AREA. THE PAIN RADIATED BRIEFLY TO THE LOWER EXTREMETIES WH ICH FELT NUMB AND HIS LEGS BUCKLED UNDER HIM. I. NAME WAS ADMITTED TO THE HOSPITAL.
