AN ELKHORN AR4 8COOP STUCK ON POOINT (HIGH TRAM) AND WAS LODGED AGAINST THE ROOF AND FACE AREA IN THE LEFT X-CUT OF NO.6 ENTRY DUE TO TIRES SPINNING AND SMOKE ACCUMULATIONS THE MINE WAS EVACUA TED. REENTRY IN7O THE MINE WAS PERFORMED APPROX. 2 HRS AFTER THE ACCIDENT THE SCOOP WAS FOUND WITH THE TIRES MELTED, BUT NO FIRE.

SCOOP OPERATOR WAS DUMPING SOME ROCK DOWN #11 ENTRY WHEN A POIECE OF RCOK STRUCK HIM ON THE HEADF AT APPROX 9:15PM. HE WAS TAKEN TO WHITESBURG HOSPITAL. HE WAS FOUND TO HAVE A STRAINED NECK MUSCLE. HE WAS TOLD TO RETURN TO WORK THE NEXT DAY IF HE FELT LIKE IT. HE HAD FAMILY TROUBLES & QUIT WORK.
