Vulcan Construction Materials, L.P. · Struck against a moving object

Contractor EE moving overburden from one area of pit to another was descending the SW ramp empty when lost control of the Terex TA35. The truck drove into the W.berm/boulders which redirected him to the E.berm where truck drove up and thru berm resulting in truck upset & landing on the level below. EE was seen at hospital and released with minor injuries.

Employee had pulled on a wrench to tighten a hex head nut. He then took a last pull to cinch tighten the nut, when the wrench slipped off the grade 5 nut. The employee fell back to the same level injuring buttock.

THE TRESPASSER CROSSED OVER A 5-FOOT HIGH FENCE AT THE POINT THAT THE POINT THAT POLICE INDICATE HE ENTERED MINE PROPERTY. CORONER JUDGES THE INCIDENT AS SUICIDE.
