Driver asked for a short shift for some personal time, he was in a hurry, he geared up to cross the flat and instead of slowing down and then gearing down, he took it out of gear and was pressing hard to place it in a lower gear while he was going down the hill. He hit the brakes, but not enough distance to stop. He hit protective berm which stopped truck.

WORKING AT ROCK CRUSHER - BELT WAS STUCK & EE GOT THE BELT ATO WORKING - BUT BECAUSE IT HAS SNOWED & WAS ICY, HE SLIPPED & HIS HIS HEAD ON FRAME. HE HAD A HARD HAT ON BUT HIT JUST BELOW HAT, T HE FALL CAUSED HIS HARD HAT TO PUSH UP CAUSING INJURY TO MORE OF HIS HEAD. HE WAS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF CRUSHER & WASN'T TO BE WORKING UNTIL LATER IN THE DAY.
