Employee has a threshold shift exceeding 30 dBA when compared to his baseline test on 10/31/2000. He is an avid bird hunter that uses a shotgun and does not use hearing protection. The audiologist stated that this damage is common with firearm use. Employee plans to purchase hearing protection that specializes in the use of firearms.
