AT 4:30 AM ON 11-13-95, I.NAME WAS IN THE D9L DOZER IN THE SOUTH PIT. THE DOZER WAS IDLING FOR 30 MINS. WHILE OPERATOR WAS IN THE CAB EATING LUNCH. THE OPERATOR HEARD A POPPING NOISE UNDER SEA T. HE GRABBED PERSONAL ITEMS AND CLIMBED DOWN FROM CAB. CLIMBED BACK UP TO CAB AND TOOK FIRE EXTINGUISHER FROM OUTSIDE OF CAB AND EXHAUSTED EXTINGUISHER ON FIRE. HE RAN UP THE HILL TO CONTACT
