WHILE KNEELING DOWN TO WELD FOR 1 1/2 HOURS, HIS LOWER BACK STIFFENED. IN MAY OF 1986 WHILE OPERATING A CONCRETE TRUCK (NOT AN OPERATING ENGINEER THEN) HE FELL 13 FEET TO THE GROUND ON HIS BAC K. AFTER X-RAYS AT ST. JOE MED CENTER WERE TAKEN, THEY SHOWED A FRACTURE IN ONE OF HIS LOWER VERTEBRAE. WORKED THRU 3-2-89 THEN TOOK OFF BEGINNING 3-5-90.
