Biesanz Stone Company · Caught in, under or between a moving and a stationary object

Miner tried to dislodge a piece of stone with ee hand instead of using the tool furnished for that procedure. EE right hand got pinched in the process. As a precaution ee went to clinic to have examined.

Biesanz Stone Company · Caught in, under or between a moving and a stationary object

Miner was working on stone splitting machine, stacking pieces from conveyer belt on pallets. Piece of stone was hung up on conveyor. Instead of using tool to move piece, employee moved it by hand. Piece moved and caused injury to hand. For further details contact employee's supervisor

Biesanz Stone Company · Struck by... (Not Elsewhere Classified)

An employee (witness) had a 3 foot long board (3" x 1") in EE's hand and was turning around to discard it. The injured employee was unknowingly behind EE and was struck in the mouth with the board. Impact caused lacerations to the mouth area and a tooth was also knocked out.

Biesanz Stone Company · Struck by falling object

Employee was moving stone slab (7 in length , 4 in height, and 2 thick) with overhead crane and vice grips. Stone slab was initially leaning on a metal rack. As stone slab was picked up and guided away from rack the stone cracked and broke causing section of slab not secured with vice grip. Gravity caused stone to fall on employees foot and caused fracture and abrasions.
