Every US mine with a usable location in MSHA's mine file, about 47,000 of 92,000; mines without one are in search. Deaths run from January 1983. Accident counts are all years and include no-injury reportable accidents, which MSHA's pre-2000 files carry and its modern file mostly omits. Operator and controller are each mine's current ones.
