While performing maintenance on a conveyor belt, an employee was using a hammer when a metal fragment splintered off and lodged into their left thigh.

EE was entering operation shack of dredge when a gust of wind blew operator into shack. EE caught self on the door frame with EE's left hand when the door shut pinching the index finger on EE's left hand. After EE's shift, EE went to Prowers Medical Center to get EE's finger cleaned up. The tip to EE's finger was amputated at the time of the incident.
