Struck against a moving object

Employee was driving a haul truck when EE hit a bump and EE's seat bottomed out. EE worked through the shift and came in the next day but the pain worsened and EE left four hours into the shift to see a physician. EE was diagnosed with a back sprain.

Fall from machine

miner was doing his pre-shift on a Kobelco SK210 long reach excavator when he closed the engine compartment then slipped and fell. He injured his left knee on the metal track while falling off the back of excavator around 6.5 feet below. went to the hospital where they said it was a sprained knee. Did not return to work on 3/24/2014 making it reportable.

Miner was running a 1 inch impact wrench to take bolts out of a cutting edge on the front bucket of a 990H. One bolt got lodged in the socket and he tried taking it out with his hand while slowly turning the socket to jar it loose. A sharp edge then cut into the glove cutting his hand right below his thumb on his left hand.

Fall down stairs

Employee had just clocked out for the day and was walking down the wooden steps when one of the boards broke and sent him falling backwards and injuring his back. He went home that night to rest and came into work the next morning with his back still hurting. He went half way through his shift then went to the doctor.

**Medical Stroke** The miner became dizzy and weak in the morning of his shift. It was decided by the mine superintendent to transport the miner to the local hospital. The miner was transported via the superintendent. While in the ER the miner suffered a stroke. THIS IS UNDER PROTEST AS A MEDICAL INJURY NOT RELATED TO MINING ACTIVITIES.

While grinding a piece of old metal out of a 4-1/4 crusher with a hand held grinder, a small piece of metal shaving became lodged in the right eye. Safety glasses were being worn. The ER ground the metal down the day after the injury. The doctor buffed the eye and stated that the eye would be fine. There were no lost work days because of this injury.

EMPLOYEE WAS PRYING ON THE TOP OF A BARREL OF ANTIFREEZE WITH A PRY BAR, WHEN HIS LEFT HAND SLIPPED AND HIT A SHARP EDGE ON A PIECE OF METAL CUTTING THE TOP OF HIS HAND.

EE BENT OVER TO RAISE LID ON MAIN WATER VALVE AT JAW, WHEN SHE FELT A SHARP PAIN IN HER BACK.

EE WAS LIFTING THE HOOD COMPARTMENT OVER THE ENGINE OF THE ROCKBREAKER WHEN HE FELT A TWINGE IN HIS BACK. HE REPORTED IT THEN BUT DID NOT GO TO THE DOCTOR UNTIL 12/26/00.
