The IP grabbed the top door handle of the excavator and started to close door. The wind was catching the door which required them to use more force to close. When the door shut, the IP's finger was contacted between the door and the CB radio next to the door. This resulted in the removal of the tip of the right middle finger requiring medical treatment.
