Vulcan Construction Materials, LLC · Struck against a moving object

On 2-16-24 employee (EE) in haul truck was being loaded. Bucket of the loader made contact with the bed of the haul truck. The shaking of the truck caused discomfort to EEs back. EE was provided first aid and returned to work with some soreness but was able to drive without discomfort. On 4-15-24 EE went to the clinic due to pain when sleeping and was issued restrictions & therapy.

Employee pulled a shovel out of the storage bin and felt a pop in the middle of EE's back. EE was lifting the shovel straight up and out of the bin. EE did not twist or bend when EE felt the pop. The doctor diagnosed EE with acute thoracic strain.
