Employee was loading stone into cutter with another emploee and got his right middle finger wedged. The employee noticed a laceration from where it was wedged. He then stopped working and came to the office, told his supervisor and was sent to Concentra.

Miner was on outlet table side of stone cutter when cut was initiated; outlet table moves in downward position. Miner placed hand prematurely to remove stone and when table was retracted middlefinger was pinched between top of stone and chisels.

INJURED AND ANOTHER EMPLOYEE WERE CUTTING A BOULDER WITH A STONE MAUL(HAMMER), INJURED WAS HOLDING THE BOULDER AND OTHER EMPLOYEE WAS HITTING ITWITH HAMMER WHEN A PIECE FLEW OFF, HITTING HIM ON THE LEFT FOOT. INJURED ESTIMATES THE PIECE OF STONE WEIGHED BETWEEN 90 AND 100 LBS.
HE WAS TRYING TO KEEP A ROCK IN PLACE IN THE CUTTER. HE DIDN'T THINK HIS FINGER WAS IN ALL THE WAY AND DIDN'T MOVE IT. HIS RIGHT POINTER FINGER WAS AMPUTATED.
