Miner was using pick to loosen small surface boulders from dirt and felt a pain in back. EE suspects this pain is related to a recent injury for which ee had been treated and released back to full duty.

Miner began to feel pain in their back after performing usual duties of dressing stone, loading stone into loader bucket.

Miner states EE was carrying a rock and felt a pain in the knee. EE initially thought the issue would resolve on its own. EE has been diagnosed with a strain and receiving physical therapy also wearing a brace. EE will be re-evaluated at regular intervals.

The employee was handling a piece of rock when he lost hold of it and it landed on his left foot behind the steel toe. His medical report states he has a fractured metatarsal and the employee is currently not at work. It is not known how long he will be on off duty status at this time.

The miner feels like sometime during the course of the day he did something to stain his back and did not feel the effects until he returned home that evening. Miner initially felt like the strain was not bad enough to stop him from his duties, but later decided he was impaired.

A small shard of metal broke off of the sledgehammer the miner was using to trim rock and lodged in his right leg approx 4" below the knee. He was taken to the E.R. where the shard was removed and 3 stitches were applied. Miner was released for work immediately but was given 2 days off.

EMPLOYEE WAS MOVING ROCKS MANUALLY. A ROCK SLIPPED ADN CAUGHT HIS FINGER BETWEEN IT AND ANOTHER ROCK CRUSHING THE FINGER AND CAUSING A LACERATION BUT NO BONE BREAKAGE. NO REGULATIONS OR RULES WERE BROKEN. NOR WAS THERE A LACK OF PROTECTIVE CLOTHING.
