FINGER GOT CAUGHT BETWEEN ROCK & METAL G UARD & CRUSHED FINGER. EMPL WAS SEEN AT LOCAL HOSPITAL THEN TRANSFERRED TRO UK MEDICAL CENTER IN LEXINGTON WHERE THEY DID SURGERY & REMOVED SEVERAL BONES IN FRONT PART OF FINGER BECAUSE IT

EE WAS REMOVING ROCKS OUT OF COAL COMING ACRTOSS THE PICKING BELT. HE WAS USING BOTH HANDS & WAS IN A STANDING POSITION. ON THIS PARTICULAR DAY THE COAL HAD SOME VERY LARGE HEAVY ROCKS IN IT & LIFTING THESE HEAVY ROCKS CUASED STRAIN ON EES BACK WHICH HAS NOW RESULTED IN NUMBNESS IN HIS LEFT LEG & TOES. THERE IS ALSO SOME LOSS OF REFLEXES WHICH IS UNDERSTANDABLE.

WHEN HE WAS POUNDING ON THE OLD BEARING WITH A HAMMER TRYING TO REM/OVE IT A SMALL PIECE OF STEEL CHIPPED OFF THE BEARING & BECAME EMBEDDED IN HIS LEFT LEG. HALFWAY BETWEEN THE ANKLE & KNEES. THE EE\S LEG WAS X-RAYED & THE DOCOTR FELT THE SMALL PIECE OF STEEL WAS LODGED TOO DEEPLY & DID NOT NEED TO BE REMOVED AT
