March 27, 2007 TN · Coal laborer, blacksmith, bull gang, parts runner, roustabout, pick-up man, pitman FALL OF FACE/RIB/PILLAR/SIDE/HIGHWALL
M & G Mining, LLC · Struck by falling object

EE was welding an I Beam onto the highwall miner. As he was doing this, a piece of coal about the size of a football, fell from the highwall and struck EE in the back. He was transported by vehicle to St. Marys Hospital in Lafollette, TN. After x-rays, EE was diagnosed with a deep bruise to the back and no bones broken. EE did not start to lose time til 5/4/07.
