Tip of employee's index finger was pinched between 2 pieces of limestone while palletizing brick-sized chopped limestone.

Rock Solid Stone Quarry LLC · Struck by falling object

The miner was working as a catcher on the hydrolic stone splitter. He had caught a rock and as he was moving his hands away the next rock was split leaving the blade in a straight out manner instead of falling down. The rock struck the miners finger requiring 12 stitches.

The employee stepped of a Ditchwitch 8020 rock saw and twisted his ankle when he touched the ground. EE was off work until 12-3-2007. When he came back, staff looked at his ankle and directed him to go to the emergency clinic right away. The ankle was x-rayed and found to be broken. EE was casted and sent home.

EE the night shift rock saw operator was driving the rock saw out of the pit when he accidentaly kicked the gear shift out of gear and the vehicle rolled backwards tipping off a 2 foot shelf of rock and throwing him to the ground. He was taken to the Hospital and it was determined there was no serious injuries.

Employee received two broken fingers as a result of rock that had been wet saw cut shifting when the loader hit the stack of slabs from the other end of the wet saw.
